Your Visit
What to Expect During Your Visit
A dermatology appointment with a new practice comes with questions — especially when your provider comes to you. Here's exactly what to expect from booking through biopsy results.
Before Your Appointment
Reminders Sent Automatically
In the days leading up to your appointment you'll receive email and text message reminders. These include a link to complete your mobile pre-registration — something we strongly recommend doing in advance.
Complete Pre-Registration Online
Pre-registration lets you upload your insurance information, personal details, and authorize health information access from the convenience of your home. It takes just a few minutes and saves you 5–10 minutes at the front desk. You'll thank yourself for doing it.
Day of Your Visit
The steps below are the same whether you're seen at our mobile clinic, one of our Florida offices, or from home by telehealth — a few small differences for each are noted.
Check In When You Arrive (or Log In for Telehealth)
At a mobile clinic or office visit, you'll be greeted by our front desk team when you arrive. If you completed pre-registration, check-in takes under two minutes. For telehealth, you'll simply click the link we text and email you a few minutes before your appointment — no waiting room, no driving.
Brief Wait in Our Waiting Area
After in-person check-in, you'll wait in our comfortable waiting area until your provider is ready. Most patients are brought in very promptly. Telehealth patients skip this step entirely — your provider joins the video call at your scheduled time.
Medical Assistant Intake
For in-person visits, a medical assistant will ask about your family history and current medications once you're in the exam room. If you're here for a full-body skin cancer exam, just let them know and they'll provide a gown — get as undressed as you're comfortable, your provider will work with you. For telehealth, your provider covers this same history directly with you on the video call.
Provider Examination
Your provider will examine you, ask any follow-up questions, and discuss what they find. Most visits run 5–15 minutes. In person, if your provider spots something concerning they can often perform a biopsy on the same visit — no second trip needed. On telehealth, if something needs an in-person look (like a biopsy), your provider will get you scheduled at a nearby office or the next mobile clinic stop, with no extra paperwork required.
After Your Visit
Prescriptions Sent Immediately
Any prescriptions are sent electronically to your pharmacy before you even leave the clinic. Your medical assistant will also schedule your next appointment — typically 1 to 12 months out, depending on your provider's recommendation.
Appointment Feedback Survey
The day after your visit, you'll receive a short feedback survey. We take every response seriously — this is how we continuously improve the OnSpot experience.
Patient Portal Access
You'll receive an email with your patient portal login shortly after your visit. Through the portal you can view upcoming appointments, check your statement balance, request prescription refills, and message your care team.
Biopsy Results & Next Steps
If a biopsy was taken, OnSpot's team will contact you directly when results come in. Benign results mean peace of mind until your next annual visit. If follow-up treatment is needed — such as an excision or Mohs surgery — your provider will walk you through the options and find a convenient time and location.
