The Process

Evaluate, Remove, and Test

We begin with a dermoscopic evaluation of the mole or lesion. If removal is indicated, your provider performs the appropriate excision technique — shave removal, punch biopsy, or elliptical excision — depending on the lesion type. Removed tissue is sent to pathology for histological analysis when clinically indicated.

Follow the ABCDE rule: Asymmetry, Border irregularity, Color variation, Diameter over 6mm, and Evolution (changes over time). If a mole exhibits any of these features, schedule an evaluation promptly. When in doubt, get it checked out.

All procedures leave some mark, but our providers use techniques that minimize scarring. Most patients have minimal visible scarring after healing.
Does insurance cover mole removal?

How long does it take to get pathology results?
Pathology results typically return within 5–7 business days. We will contact you with results.
Do you remove skin tags?
Yes — skin tag removal is a routine part of this visit type. Most skin tags are removed quickly using shave excision, electrocautery, or cryotherapy, and multiple tags can often be removed in the same appointment.
Is skin tag removal covered by insurance?
Skin tag removal is usually considered cosmetic and may not be covered unless a tag is irritated, bleeding, or otherwise medically bothersome. We can help verify your specific coverage before your visit.
